Large-screen TVs are taking a bigger and bigger share of the market, and we are buying bigger and bigger TVs. Several factors have contributed to this, such as the drop in price of large-screen TVs and also the improvement in resolution, which means that you do not need as much distance to see them.
If you are looking forward to buying a large inch TV, before doing so, we recommend you to see our listing where we show you the best 85-inch TVs. This is currently the largest size you can buy at a reasonable price, as 88 and 98 inches are exorbitantly priced.
Samsung 85Q60C QLED 4K

First of all, we show you a best-seller as it is the Samsung 85Q60C which offers excellent value for money, with good picture quality and lots of extras.
At the technical level, the Samsung 85Q60C, features Quantum Dot technology. The panel has 4K resolution, supports HDR 10+, HLG and HDR 10, and has a 60 Hz refresh rate. Thanks to the use of Quantum Dot nanoparticles, a wide color palette and a good level of brightness are achieved.
The 85Q60C is extremely thin, measuring only 2.69cm at its widest point, with thin bezels around the screen.
The stand is adjustable in height, which allows you to place a sound bar just below it without blocking any of the image. The sound, to tell the truth, is quite poor due to such a slim design, which is why it becomes almost essential to add a sound bar to have a decent audio.
At the operating system level includes Tizen 7.0 which is Samsung’s own system and that will allow you to access a multitude of apps among which are the most popular as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or Disney+.
This series includes the remote with voice control, so you can give commands through Google Assistant, Alexa and Bixby. In addition, this remote does not use batteries, but the battery is recharged via USB or through sunlight or artificial light thanks to the solar panel that has on the back. As if that were not enough, this year it can also be charged by the electromagnetic energy emitted by devices such as routers.
All this makes the Samsung Q60C one of the best 85-inch TVs currently available in terms of value for money.

Sony 85X85K
Sony X85K with 120 Hz panel and HDMI 2.1
Another very interesting model if you want a little more advanced features is the Sony X85K. The most notable features of this TV are its 120 Hz panel and HDMI 2.1 for 4K gaming at a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The input lag is extremely low, around 7.5 ms, making it an ideal TV for gaming.
The panel is VA type and has direct LED backlighting. In this case, it does not offer the slim design of the Q60C, although a greater thickness would favor a better sound. The X85K series offers a wide color palette thanks to Triluminos color mapping. Colors are very natural and achieve great realism especially for movies.
As with the Samsung 85Q60C, if you want to place it on a piece of furniture, but do not have enough space, the stand can be placed more in the middle.
In short, if you are looking for a well-equipped TV especially for gaming but with a relatively affordable price, this Sony X85K is a great choice.

Sony 85X90K
Sony X90K with Full Array and Acoustic Multi-Audio system
Now we see the Sony 85X90K, which is an improvement over the X85K we have just seen, achieving higher contrast, better shadow detail thanks to the improved backlight system and the cognitive XR processor.
Unlike previous models, it uses full array backlighting with local dimming. This means the LED bulbs are spread across the back of the panel instead of just underneath, and you can also control the light by independent zones. Contrast is improved by using more bulbs and the ability to independently adjust the light in specific areas of the screen.
This Sony X90K features the 2nd generation Cognitive XR Image Processor, which introduces some improvements over last year and offers great clarity and sharpness in images. This processor analyzes the image object by object and gives priority to what appears in the foreground, giving a greater sense of depth.
Cross-analysis of the Sony XR processor.
This cognitive XR processor cross-analyzes hundreds of thousands of elements at once. One of these elements is the focal point, which can detect what people tend to fixate on the most. By cross-analyzing every element of the image, including the focal point, it integrates and adjusts each part to give the image maximum realism and depth.
The audio is also improved over previous models with the Acoustic Multi-Audio system. This system is based on the addition of two tweeters on the sides so that the sound is projected more forward.

The stand allows three positions, so you can put the legs more to the sides, more to the center and you can also put them to the sides but higher so you can put a sound bar underneath.
For all these reasons, the Sony X90K is one of the best 85-inch TVs you can buy in the upper mid-range.

Samsung 85QN85C

The model that we now want to show you, is the Samsung QN85C, a model that already uses Mini LED and Quantum Dot technology. In this case, the bulbs are placed on the back as in the Sony X90K, but in this case the size is much smaller, to give you an idea, it is like a grain of sand. Now instead of carrying hundreds of LED bulbs, it carries thousands of tiny bulbs.
In addition, the lens and protective capsule of the QN85C have been removed and replaced with a micro-coating that allows for better light diffusion. The contrast is very good, reaching up to 1500 nits of brightness and a good black level thanks to the 576 independent zones of illumination control and the VA type panel.
The color gamut is really good thanks to the Quantum Dot technology. It includes a layer with millions of these nanoparticles that create a color depending on their size. Quantum Dot technology shows all its splendor in HDR content. It is in the contents where there are very bright scenes where the use of this technology allows to show intense colors regardless of the brightness level.
This is what is known as color volume and this is where the Samsung QN85C practically 100% so the colors maintain saturation at any brightness level, preventing them from becoming whitish.

This QN85C has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and all four ports are HDMI 2.1, perfect for gaming. It also supports FreeSync Premium Pro, the input lag is around 10 ms and incorporates the new Game Bar 2.0 for extra gaming settings.
This Samsung 85QN85C is being a top seller because its price is really competitive for everything it offers. We find it a great TV especially for viewing in bright environments and for viewing HDR content.

LG 83 OLED C2

And we end with the one that seems to us the best option at the moment. There are no 85″ OLED panels currently being manufactured, but there are 83″ OLED panels. Although this list goes to the best 85-inch TVs, we couldn’t leave out this LG OLED 83C2.
If you want to enjoy a giant screen that gives you the best blacks, this should be your TV. This 83-inch LG OLED C2 gets total black because each pixel can be turned off independently, unlike the TVs we have seen that require backlighting with LED bulbs.
This makes it the ideal solution if you want to enjoy it in a dark room, especially when watching movies and series.
This LG 83C2 not only stands out for its pure blacks, but thanks to its powerful 5th generation Alpha 9 processor and evo OLED panel, it displays a high level of brightness and a wide color palette. In this C2 series, a new green OLED layer is added, as well as new elements in the blue and red OLED layers. These improvements achieve higher brightness and more accurate color reproduction.
This is the 2022 model, which you can still get and now at a much cheaper price than the new 2023.
No major changes have been made to the new model, so while the C2 series is available, it seems to us to be the best option, due to the price difference.
Of course, hurry up, as it is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain and the remaining units are few.
