The color palette is wide thanks to its Dynamic Crystal Color system, which consists of adding red and green phosphors to cover the LED diodes. This generates a much whiter and purer light, resulting in a purer and more accurate color when color filtered. The white is also more neutral and has no contamination from other colors.
The image processing is more than correct and we notice that Samsung has done a good job on its image processor for the entry-level range.

Let’s continue with the TCL Q650G / C635K which are another models that we recommend you. These two series are pretty similar although with differences in design. TCL sells the first one in North America and the second one in UK and in Europe.
This models use QLED technology, which employs quantum dot nanoparticles to achieve a wider color palette. This technology has become popular thanks to Samsung, but there are other brands that also incorporate it in their TVs, as is the case with TCL.
These quantum dots are added in a layer and have the ability to change the color length according to the size they have. It is a very good technology to show more intense colors and maintain the saturation in the brightest parts without washing out.
The panel is VA type, which gives a good contrast and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. For use as a gaming display, it features TCL DLG (Dual Line Gate) technology, which provides a dynamically higher refresh rate and lower latency. It uses a dynamic refresh that attempts to achieve a similar feel to a native 120 Hz panel. This function, however, when activated, the resolution drops to Full HD, it is not compatible in 4K.

Now we make a big leap in quality with Sony’s X90K series. This model comes with more advanced features such as a full-array backlight system and native 120 Hz panel and HDMI 2.1 ports, as well as better sound as we will see now.
Thanks to its Full Array Local Dimming system, the light diffusion is more precise. It has a larger number of LED bulbs and they are placed along the back instead of just at the bottom like the Samsung CU8000 we saw at the beginning.

It also supports VRR to synchronize the images of the screen and the console or PC. Thanks to that you’re going to obtaining an image without jerking or screen tearing.
The sound, without being spectacular, offers an acceptable experience even without a sound bar, thanks to the X-balanced speakers and two tweeters on the sides. The X-balanced speakers provide more bass, and the side tweeters deliver sound from the front for a more direct experience.
This model is from 2022, but that is precisely why it is a good time to buy it as it has dropped a lot in price and the 2023 model is much more expensive.

We now make the jump to OLED technology with this LG B2, which is the brand’s cheapest TV with this technology. As we mentioned before, OLED panels are manufactured in the 77″ size instead of the 75″. So we have two extra inches that are not very noticeable, but there they are.
Thanks to its self-luminescent panel, where each pixel can turn on and off independently, the black level is totally black. Therefore, unlike the models we just saw that need bulbs to generate light, here each pixel is the one that generates its own light. This means that in dark rooms, you get a better experience by being able to visualize total blacks, avoiding leakage or halos around bright objects on a dark background or subtitles.
Another inherent benefit of OLED technology is that you can watch it from anywhere with virtually no loss of color or contrast. The B2 has all these advantages, but it is also a TV that incorporates a good image processor, such as the 5th generation Alpha 7, which performs a more than correct scaling with low quality sources.

The OLED TVs we have just looked at will give you excellent quality with pure blacks and good color reproduction, but brightness is also important in HDR content, and even more so when you watch it in brightly lit rooms. And this is where the LG OLED evo G3 comes in, reaching a peak brightness of no less than 2100 nits in Vivo mode, an undoubtedly spectacular figure. In calibrated modes, the brightness goes up to 1500 nits, which is still impressive for an OLED TV.
To achieve this level of brightness, LG designed a new panel by adding a layer of microscopic microlenses that help direct the light better. Millions of these microlenses are used, which have a convex shape that mimics the way the eyes of dragonflies see in 360º.

These tiny particles, unlike the QN85C which also used this technology, are printed on the subpixels using a new inkjet process.
Now, this new S95C series incorporates a new sensor for temperature control as well as a hyper-efficient OLED electroluminescent material that makes the blue emitting layer more efficient and brighter.

The LG G3 that we have just seen is perfect for hanging on the wall, but this S95C is also perfect because the part is also completely flat and the thickness is incredibly thin, being only 1 cm. But summarizing a little, if your budget is tight, we believe that the. TCL 75Q6 is your best option. If you have an average budget, with the Sony X90K you’re already going to make a significant leap in image and you’re already going to enjoy a 120 Hz panel.
If you want to make the leap to OLED without spending too much money, the 77OLEDB2 series is the ideal choice and you will enjoy deep blacks along with good image processing and a variety of gaming features.
And if you want the best picture quality without worrying about the price, we think the best options are the Samsung 77S95C QD OLED and the LG OLED evo G3, both of which deliver impressive images.
The LG OLED G3 achieves a higher brightness level, supports Dolby Vision, performs better in brightly lit rooms as it has a polarizer, which the Samsung does not, and does not come with One Connect, which can be interesting if you have the sockets right behind it. It would be the best option if you wanted to leave it hanging on the wall. It also has a white subpixel, which tests have shown to be more resistant to burns.
On the other hand, the Samsung 77S95C stands out more in terms of color and viewing angle, and if you want to place it on furniture, it already comes with a stand.
