Table of contents – The best PC gaming speakers of 2023
Audioengine HD3 desktop Monitor

The Audioengine HD3 speakers emphasize the low end, but the mids sound fantastic. These are for you if you want to sing along to your favorite songs while cleaning the house. The speakers sound good, but they fall short of some other high-end studio monitors.
The Audioengine HD3 is a self-powered system consisting of a pair of small speakers, each measuring just 7×4.25×5.5 inches (HxWxD), which is small enough that it could fit on my wife’s desk. Despite their diminutive size, they are quite hefty – the left speaker (the powered one) weighs in at 4.0 pounds, while the right speaker (the passive one) is only slightly lighter at 3.4 pounds. The build quality is outstanding, featuring 0.7″ thick MDF enclosures, extensive internal braces, high-density damping, and genuine walnut veneer. The cabinets are also available in satin black and high-gloss white.
Behind a removable magnetic grille, each speaker features a 0.75-inch neodymium-dome tweeter and a 2.75-inch aramid-fiber woofer with custom voice coil. The bass-reflex cabinet has a front-mounted slot port, which was important in my case because the speakers were going to be placed in a tight spot. Overall, the frequency response is specified from 65Hz to 22kHz (±2dB), which is respectable for such a small speaker.
The DAC is a Texas Instruments PCM 5102A, which can handle resolutions up to 32 bits/384 kHz. There is also USB for additional connectivity and 1/8″ analog and RCA for lots of options, but the implementation has some technical limitations. The ability to accept both 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz can be important, since a lot of audio is recorded at 44.1 kHz, but a lot of video is encoded at 48 kHz. Avoiding having to change the sample rate is good in these cases.
While the USB input is 16-bit, 44.1/48 due to the design of our Bluetooth module, we chose the 32-bit PCM 5102A DAC so that the Bluetooth aptX HD stream can come in at full resolution. We could’ve put the USB audio directly into the 5102A and bypassed the Bluetooth module, but that would’ve meant an input selector switch, and that could’ve confused people since our other speakers had open inputs that didn’t need a switch.
They’re Bluetooth-connected and use aptX for higher-qualitystreaming. Moving between your computer and a buddy’s smartphone is seamless, making it easier to use these for fun. The drawback to these speakers is obvious, and that is the price. But if you’ve got the cash to invest, these are not going to let you down.
Advantages:
- It has a great bass and RMS power
- A lot of connections
- USB input for computer source
- Integrated DAC and Amplifier
- Excellent build quality
Disadvantages:
- Price
- Cable between the speakers is a bit short

Creative Pebble Plus
Creative Pebble Plus 2.1 Speakers
We continue the list with the Creative Pebble Plus 2.1 speakers. This model is USB powered and has received thousands of positive reviews for the high sound quality it offers at a low price.
It consists of the Creative Pebble plus a subwoofer, making it a 2.1 speaker as opposed to the standard Pebble series, which is 2.0. The new subwoofer has a speaker driver at the base that is designed to deliver punchy bass sounds.
It is USB powered, so it is not ideal for comparison with desktop speakers such as the Creative T20 II or the Bose Companion.
However, even though it is an extremely cheaper version than others, you will never regret buying it as the sound quality it offers is far superior to what you are paying for it.
Creative Pebble Plus 2.1 gaming PC speakers
If you are just starting out in the gaming world and are not yet encouraged to make a big investment in sound, I recommend you choose this great model of speakers.
A new version has been released that doesn’t have a subwoofer. We’re talking about the Creative Pebble Pro, which we’ve just reviewed, and it performs very well. Creative has redesigned the drivers to provide a strong bass without a subwoofer, and the power output has been boosted. It’s the perfect choice if you don’t have much space and prefer a small speaker kit.

Technical Specifications:
In addition to the subwoofer, the Pebble Plus also includes a new feature called High Gain Mode, which is a switch located at the base of the right speaker.
This allows the combined RMS power to be increased to 8W. This can be easily done using your laptop or the USB adapter on your smartphone.
Advantages:
- These are USB powered speakers that deliver incredible sound at a low cost.
- The subwoofer is a big plus that this model offers and received thousands of positive comments.
Disadvantages:
- Despite the excellent sound quality, if you are a seasoned gamer looking for a unique experience every time you play, you may want to spend a little more money for more immersion.

The connections are located on the subwoofer, and it also has two RCA inputs and an auxiliary input that allow you to connect the 2.1 to any sound source.
Logitech Z533 Gaming Speaker 2.1 Connections
It does not have Bluetooth. Although this may seem like a minor detail, this type of connection is always useful and you can think of adding an audio adapter in this way, for example to listen to music from your smartphone.
Advantages:
- It has an excellent price-quality ratio.
- It has a great bass and RMS power.
- It has external volume and bass control.

This is the second Logitech speaker to make our list of the best PC gaming speakers of 2023. And below, we will explain why we included this model.
The Logitech Z906 stands out from the previous models on this list of the best PC gaming speakers because it has a 5.1 sound system. This gives you a much more immersive sound that you can enjoy in larger rooms.
But not only for an immersive gaming experience, they also deliver quality sound for any occasion, with depth, punch and detail reproduction that is more than adequate.
As far as power is concerned, the peak value is 1000W, while the actual power, is 500W RMS. It has an 8-inch subwoofer that delivers 165 watts RMS of punchy bass. The five satellite speakers take care of the midrange and treble.

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1

If you’re looking for the best PC gaming speakers with a subwoofer, the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 should be near the top of your list. These speakers deliver excellent overall sound and impressive bass. And they’ve been tried and tested since Klipsch first released them in 2001. But they haven’t really been updated since then, which means the system lacks Bluetooth. If you don’t mind, and if you’ve got room for an extra sub, you won’t find better computer speakers at these prices.
The Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speaker offers great sound at a great price-if you have room for a subwoofer and don’t need Bluetooth.
The two satellite speakers are about the average size for computer speakers at 8.5 inches by 5.7 inches by 4.2 inches. They sit on a metal stand that lifts them off the desk and helps them produce a wide, full sound. There’s a tweeter and a 3-inch midrange driver behind the removable fabric cover. But it’s the 10.2×9.8×9.5in subwoofer that does the heavy lifting in this 2.1 system. The 6.5-inch driver inside is responsible for the low end and adds a lot to the sound.
For an unparalleled streaming and gaming experience, Klipsch MicroTractrix horns deliver crystal-clear sound. Sealed enclosure with 3″ midrange driver, MicroTractrix horn, and 19mm PEI dome tweeter.
On one satellite – which can be placed on the left or right – you’ll find separate controls for the main volume and the subwoofer volume. On the side of the control unit you’ll find a headphone output and a 3.5mm input – in addition to the 3.5mm input that’s hardwired to the back of the right speaker. Given that the ProMedia 2.1 hasn’t changed since 2001, there are no newer connections such as Bluetooth or USB-C.

The Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 impresses in almost every way. Bass is the main feature, but the satellites also handle vocals and instruments well. A wide soundstage is also produced by this relatively small system.
There are two versions, one of which is THX certified. THX certification is a globally recognised guarantee of uncompromising quality, consistency and performance. HX engineers conduct hundreds of tests to ensure that the sound and picture reproduction of the industry’s finest home entertainment products are fully preserved. Making your next home entertainment purchase an easy decision, only the best products with uncompromising quality, performance and consistency are THX Certified.
Advantages:
- Delivers high quality and very powerful sound.
- Excellent build quality and design.
- Adjustable bass
Disadvantages:
- No Bluetooth
